Plan the unit around what you shipped

Protect items for the Cyprus climate

Belongings that spent weeks at sea and then sit through a Cypriot summer benefit from a little preparation. Unpack anything that arrived damp, let it dry fully, and repack it in clean boxes. Lift boxes off the floor on pallets and use moisture absorbers, especially for books, documents, textiles and electronics.

Keep paperwork simple

Store the documents you will need for residency, banking and car registration with you, not in the unit. Keep a second copy of your inventory digitally, and tell your insurer where your belongings are stored so your cover follows them.
